Contraindications:
· Infection at planned site
· Thrombosis of entry vein, iliac vein or inferior vena cava (IVC)
Landmarks include:
· Anterior superior iliac spine
· Pubic tubercle
· Inguinal ligament
Adjacent anatomy includes:
· Femoral artery (to which vein is about 1 cm medial)
· Femoral nerve
