Mario Wijker is Vice President, Global QARA for Teleflex.
He joined Teleflex in January 2019.
Mario has worked in senior and executive leadership Quality and Regulatory roles for more than 20 years and brings with him significant regional and global experience in the medical device industry.
Prior to joining Teleflex, Mario worked with Mölnlycke Health Care in the role of Global Vice President Quality and Regulatory where he was responsible for the global Quality System and Regulatory Compliance including the implementation of the new Medical Device Regulation (MDR) and MDSAP. He was also responsible for leading the QARA strategies to align with the company’s objectives and growth targets including remediation and compliance improvement plans. His earlier roles were in Life Technologies and American Medical Systems AMS where he progressed his career in a number of roles. AMS was subsequently acquired by Boston Scientific.
Mario is a Certified ISO 13485:2016 and MDSAP lead auditor, and has delivered MDSAP preparation and readiness programs as well as Design Control and CAPA training workshops for the Association of Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI).
Mario was educated in The Netherlands. He majored in Analytical Chemistry in his intermediate engineering education and Genetics and Biochemistry in his higher engineering education.
He is based in Athlone, Ireland.
